Silica Water Test
Recommended for targeted testing of silica in drinking water. Commonly detected in new wells, silica enters groundwater supplies from natural weathering of silicate minerals of soil. While silica causes no harmful human health effects, large amounts of silica in water can cause scaling in pipes, impact water flow, infrastructure, and may interfere with iron and manganese water treatment and removal.
This Tap Score water test package provides all required materials to properly collect and submit a sample for certified laboratory testing. Reported results will include detailed, quantified analysis of of silica content.
Silica Water Test
Is this the right test for you?
What our scientists say:
“ Silica has no known human health impacts. However, its aesthetic effects (white residue buildup) can be a nuisance. Silica naturally occurs in water through weathering of rocks. It can also enter a water supply through fracking and oil operations. "
This is the right test if you:
- Served by a private well or spring.
