Recommended for targeted testing for asbestos in drinking water. Asbestos may be introduced into drinking water when asbestos-containing materials dissolve in water distribution pipes (such as air-conditioning pipes) or from nearby industrial activity.

Asbestos cement pipes make up between 12% to 15% of drinking water systems in the United States. When inhaled, asbestos is a well known human carcinogen (cancer-causing agent). Consuming water with asbestos may lead to an increased risk of developing benign intestinal polyps.

This Tap Score water test package provides all required materials to properly collect and submit a sample for certified laboratory testing. Reported results will include detailed, quantified analysis of asbestos by EPA method 100.2 (or equivalent).
