Electrons and protons play crucial roles in the body's biochemical processes, including inflammation. Inflammation is a response to injury or infection,( or any perturbation caused by the direct environment, like electromagnetic stress, air or water pollution, a poor diet with high acidity) , involving the immune system. During this process, cells produce reactive oxygen species (ROS) and reactive nitrogen species (RNS), which are molecules that contain unpaired electrons. These reactive species can cause oxidative stress, damaging cells and tissues.
